As we age, we do not keep that strong to our homes and very often choose independent living facilities while the ability to drive a car is a significant sign of independence for us. It makes us feel free and self-sufficient. However, as we age, our abilities change and our driving can be affected. Driving requires quick thinking and action taking as well as focus, coordination and impeccable sight; naturally, all of these abilities can lessen with age.

It’s no wonder then, that when it comes to seniors behind the wheel, the risks of driving increase. Of course, not everyone ages the same and some people will be able to drive longer than others. Whatever the case may be –and whatever the age– safety on the road should be a priority.

Senior people slowly lose the ability to drive a motor vehicle safely. Here are some tips for senior driver protection:

Health comes first

As we mentioned, not everyone ages the same. Do you take medication that may affect your driving? Have you noticed any changes in your sight and hearing? Do you suffer from headaches and muscle pain?  – All of these factors can heighten the risk of accidents, so make sure you consult with healthcare professionals regularly.   

If you keep track of your medical check-ups, sleep well, and have general good health, chances are you (or your elder family member) are fit to drive.

Choose the right car

Make sure to give your vehicle proper maintenance. Also, consider getting a car with a quality security system in order to reduce the risks of driving. Audi A6 has scored high when it comes to vehicle security in luxury cars. Do your research; investing in a secure vehicle will make any driver act and feel safe.  

Look out for warning signs

Know when the signs of aging are having an impact on your driving skills. Maybe you’ve been getting more tickets lately; others have expressed concern about your driving; or worse, you’ve already been in a traffic accident. Deep down, a driver knows when it’s no longer safe to be the one in charge of the wheel. Pay close attention to the red flags…they may save lives!

Driving self-awareness

Continuing with the previous point, even when you see those warning signs, it’s still hard to give up the keys. But change the perspective and consider all the new possibilities not driving has to offer like having more time for yourself or being less stressed.

This means that if you do have problems with skin conditions, you should see a professional dermatologist and have it dealt with.

 

Focus on your speech

For a man to be successful, he has to be bold and straightforward. Speech is one of the most important factors when it comes to success. Most of the important men throughout history have been great orators. In order to be successful, you should always ensure that you speak with confidence and speak articulately. If you cannot do so yet, make sure that you practice while standing in front of a mirror.

 

Gestures make the man

It is important that you use appropriate body language and gestures while talking and listening. This means that you show whomever you are speaking to that you are interested in what he or she is saying. ]]> Even if people don’t understand a hell lot about the cars, they typically admire nice custom wheels. A lot of times wheels don’t even add anything to performance of the car or actually degrade it, but they make the car look so damn fine. This post is about getting OEM wheels from other car manufacturers and putting it on your Audi A6 or actually any Audi. Why OEM wheels of other manufactures for Audi? There couple of reasons of why people might do it:

  • You like the other brand’s wheels, but just doesn’t want to buy that brand – think nice AMG wheels
  • You like the other brand’s wheels, but just don’t have money to buy the other car – think Bentley wheels
  • OEM wheels from the other car look good and they are also cheap – think Chrysler 300

The recall is related to Air Bag deployment. Apparently, the combination of stitching heated/cooled seats prevents PODS (Passenger Occupant Detection System) to operate properly. ]]> The recent public unveiling of the 2015 Audi A6 has car enthusiasts very excited over the sleek new design features and upgrades.
Although the new 2015 Audi A6 isn’t a total redesign, it’s obvious the famed German manufacturer pointed their attention to a few key details.

Exterior changes include refinements of:2015_audi_a6

  • the headlights
  • air inlets
  • bumpers
  • rear lighting
  • exhaust pipe
  • and the single frame grille

Interior changes focus on making the Audi A6 a contender in the vehicular technology space.  Some of those improvements include:

  • a speech dialogue system allowing the driver to speak text messages, music commands, and phone calls
  • blind spot monitoring systems
  • adaptive cruise control

The engine roster for the new A6 offers four different options, one FSI engine and three different TFSI options.  The range of horsepower covers a wide breadth from 190 to a whooping 333 HP.  There are actual test drive reviews you can find online.  We aren’t lucky enough yet to get that invitation…

The overall consensus is that the 2015 A6 is a fantastic upgrade on an already fantastic line of cars.  It has been said that the new release of the A6 further blurs the line between the A6 model and the A8 model.  However, with the upgrade in quality of the A6 I don’t think too many people will mind that the model lines are blurring, they’re most certainly blurring in a positive direction.

On the trek to breaking the record the Audi A6 and it’s passengers travelled through an astonishing 14 countries, on a trip that lasted almost 28 hours.

Though the Audi A6 TDI’s official MPG rating is 67 miles per gallon, the statistics after the fourteen country trek placed the trip’s MPG measurement at over 75mpg.  An impressive feat even for Audi’s most efficient model.

“The market in China is normal. This year we expect market growth of 8%”, said Stadler at the presentation of the new Audi Q7 in Switzerland. For the company China has been so far the most important market. Last year, the Ingolstadt-based manufacturer sold there almost 579,000 cars and thus realized a growth of 17.7%. Worldwide Audi sales totaled 1.74 million cars.
The fact that this year the market has cooled significantly to the Audi, can be seen from the data for April. With supplies to over 45,000 cars increased from 0.2% compared to the previous month. From January to April accustomed to success company has sold nearly 179,000 new vehicles, an increase of 5.2% on an annual basis.
Stadler does not believe that the normalization of the Chinese market will affect the purpose of the Audi 2020 to become the most successful manufacturer of premium manufacturers, ahead of BMW and Daimler.
“We are not so naive to believe that each year there will be growth in the range of 20 to 25%”, said the manager. Accordingly, normalizing market there is set in the strategy of the Group.
According to Stadler one of the reasons for the cooling of the Chinese market is the anti-corruption campaign of the Chinese government. The times in which some Chinese have bought two or three cars are already gone. However, China remains an important market for the brand. In perspective, according to Stadler year there might be sold to 30 million cars of all brands and manufacturers. Of these, about 9% will be for the premium segment.
To counter the negative trend, Audi will rely on the development of its distribution network and new markets within the country where it is not represented, such as the western parts of mainland China. Stadler expected significant growth from plug-in hybrids and series models Q. Since Chinese is becoming more difficult to be able to obtain a registration number, the company relies on its hybrid cars, with the possibility to go up to 30 km only on electricity included in the category of electric vehicles and therefore are not obliged to participate in the lottery numbers. Next year the market will come produced in the country A6 e-tron.

Olsson revealed that always liked cars series DTM and why this project for a long time was in his plans. The main feature of the RS6 is the carbon bodywork used cars in the German Touring Car championship. It was made by the company Caresto, led by former chief engineer of the brand Koenigsegg – Leif Turvenson. The material itself was bought personally by Olsson from the factory producing materials for cars Pagani. The car shines with many amazing and really beautiful feature and the tuning is fantastic. The chip-tuning of the engine uses perfectly the whole power and maximum torque to give high acceleration and really great dynamics.
With the tuning of the power unit are engaged experts from the studio Stertman Motorsport. They have put a V8 engine of 4.0 liters and power 560 hp, special chip tunnig with 3 levels are replaced standard turbine and exhaust system and suspension.
The design is the work of studio Wrapzone, which works on the car Rebellion R2K, which Olson participated last year in intercontinental marathon rally Gumball 300. The new machine Swede will play in this year’s race, which started on 23 May in Stokhlom ( CHF) and finished on May 30 in Las Vegas (USA).
